Join us for a morning of tree planting and community connection at the Melros Reserve Community Planting event.
About the Event
Following the cancellation of National Tree Day, this special gathering during National Landcare Week will shine a spotlight on urban greening and community-led sustainability efforts.

What to expect:
- Get your hands in the soil by helping us plant 360 native seedlings (courtesy of the WALGA Urban Greening Grant)
- Take home a free seedling from Peel Men of the Trees
- After planting, enjoy a free sausage sizzle from Falcon Lions Club
- Plant a seed in a takeaway jiffy pot thanks to Grow it Local
- Learn more about urban greening initiatives, such as verge and street trees, with a presentation from the City of Mandurah's Landscape Management team
- Explore sustainable transport and learn about carbon emissions with Toyota Mandurah
Things to know:
- Attendees can use street parking surrounding the reserve
- Please arrive between 10am and 10:15am so you can register before attending a tree planting briefing
- Bring a water bottle and suitable weatherproof clothing, such as a hat, raincoat, long sleeves and pants, and closed shoes
- Bring your own gloves and mallet (or borrow one on the day)
- Insect repellent and sunscreen are recommended
- The event will go ahead unless there are extreme weather conditions

- Accessible parking is available at Melros Beach car park
- An accessible planting area is available
- There are public toilets within 250m at Melros Beach car park
