About the Event

Wheelchair Sports Come and Try Session

Take part in an exciting and inclusive Wheelchair Sports Come and Try Session, facilitated by Rebound WA and supported by Peel Thunder’s All Abilities Wheelchair Football team.

As part of Mandurah’s International Day of People with Disability celebrations, this session offers the chance to experience wheelchair basketball and wheelchair AFL in an immersive and supportive environment. It is a great way to acknowledge and celebrate inclusion through sport.

There will also be an opportunity to share ideas for the City of Mandurah’s next Access and Inclusion Plan, which supports ongoing progress towards a community that is accessible and inclusive of people with disability, including young people with disability.

Open to young people aged 11 to 17 years. Support workers are welcome to attend.

The weather can be warm at this time of year, so please remember to be SunSmart by wearing a hat, sunscreen and light clothing, and bringing a water bottle to stay comfortable while you take part.

Accessibility:

The venue offers ACROD and general parking, accessible and standard toilets, quiet spaces for breaks, and sensory resources that can be borrowed during the session.

Bookings are essential as places are limited. Email hcc@mandurah.wa.gov.au
