This presentation will explore the life of David Smythe Murray (1807–1864), Resident Magistrate whose work helped guide the transformation of the Murray region – including Mandurah – during its formative years.
The talk will look into Murray’s role not only as a government official maintaining law and order, but as a key figure navigating the practical and social challenges of a developing district.
