red capped plover bird on the shore of a beach

About the Event

Join Danny Willmott, a member of Western Australian Seabird Rescue (WASR), for an inspiring presentation on the vital work being done to protect our seabirds.

Danny will speak about WASR’s powerful mission:

  • Rescue & Rehabilitate – Saving injured and orphaned seabirds and waterbirds, and giving them expert care and a second chance at life.
  • Educate & Advocate – Raising awareness of the threats seabirds face, especially from recreational fishing, and showing how simple changes can save lives.
  • Collaborate for Conservation – Working hand-in-hand with wildlife organisations across WA and Australia to strengthen protection for seabirds.

He’ll also share his personal journey—from the most heartbreaking injury he's encountered to the most unforgettable rescue that continues to inspire WASR’s work today.

Plus, you'll learn what to do if you find an injured bird and how you can get involved as a volunteer to make a real difference.
