Urban lake surrounded by trees, grass and reeds. There is a swamp hen in the lake.
Join this workshop to learn how our urban lakes are monitored and managed, the key threats to water quality and wildlife, and what you can do to help.

About the Event

Come together with us, South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare (SERCUL) and Western Australian Seabird Rescue to discover what's going on at Yindana lake.

Our team will share how we monitor urban lakes - what we look for and how we aim to address key threats.

Discover a new way of gardening with SERCUL's tips for responsible fertiliser use. These tips will keep your garden thriving while protecting our local lakes from excess nutrients.

Learn about the impacts of poor water quality and feeding on birds from WA Seabird Rescue and what we can all do to reduce our impact.

This workshop is a great way to:

  • learn how to keep our environment healthy and beautiful for generations to come
  • support our local wildlife that use these lakes as homes, feeding spots, or passageways
  • meet like-minded members of your community to kickstart some local action.

They'll also be some lawn games to enjoy - bring along the whole family for some education and fun!
