The City of Mandurah is helping local people to kick-start their own businesses with a new round of the StartUp Smart eight-week business development program.
Those wanting to start their own business but don’t know where to begin are encouraged to apply. The free course will teach participants how to start a business the smart way, build a solid foundation and get step-by-step guidance to help start and develop a business.
The program is one of the ways the City is helping to boost local people’s skills and employment opportunities, and is an innovative approach to the City’s economic initiatives.
Through the course, a range of helpful topics will be covered including validating a business idea, identifying customers, target market and competition, validating and testing products and services, developing a business model and developing a brand, plus much more.
During and after the course, participants will have access to one-on-one business advisory sessions, which will help people to further succeed in their business.
The program will be delivered in partnership with IPS Business Advisory & BOSS Centre Mandurah.
StartUp Smart will begin in February 2023, and applications are now open at www.mandurah.wa.gov.au
