The excitement is building for the much-loved Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest, which returns this weekend, March 16 and 17. Drawing crowds from all corners of Western Australia and beyond, Crab Fest celebrates the essence of our community, showcasing our people, places, and local culture. With a focus on offering unique food and drink experiences, it promises to be a weekend filled with fun and flavour.

For those not familiar with the event, navigating your way to and from the festival grounds can be a bit tricky if not properly planned. So, we've compiled a handy guide to help our locals make the most of the Crab Fest weekend.

Plan your route:
The first step to enjoying Crab Fest is to plan ahead. The festival takes place in Mandurah’s City Centre from the foreshores to the Mandurah Ocean Marina, with road and water closures implemented to accommodate the festivities. Main road closures include Mandurah Terrace and some adjoining roads, as well as Smart Street Mall.

To avoid any inconvenience, be sure to check the road and water closures map available on the Crab Fest website. Consider alternative routes to bypass closures and ensure a smooth journey.

Consider alternative modes of transport:
Mandurah residents have several alternative transportation options to ease the hassle of finding parking. You can opt to ride your bike to the festival, with free, secure bike parking available onsite.

Public transport services will also be operational to and from the event. Additionally, consider carpooling with friends or family members who can drop you off at the festival.

Parking:
Parking need not be a hassle with a little planning. Charity parking areas are conveniently located on Hackett Street, Sholl Street and Hall Park. Parking is $5, with all proceeds donated to the State Emergency Service and local community and sporting groups. Arrive early to secure your spot and avoid disappointment.

To further facilitate access, free shuttle buses will be operating all day from Mandurah Train Station, John Tonkin College (Tindale Campus), Ormsby Terrace and Leslie Street.

Accessibility:
At Crab Fest, we are committed to ensuring an inclusive experience for all visitors. Designated ACROD parking areas, accessible toilets, and mobility scooter charging stations are provided for those with mobility issues. The festival site is flat and easily navigable, with minimal steps or stairs. For more information on event accessibility, visit the Crab Fest website.
