Staying safe in the sea is easier this Summer thanks to the City of Mandurah and our surf lifesavers.
Patrols at four local beaches have begun and will continue into the new year, with Mandurah and Port Bouvard Surf Lifesaving Clubs providing coverage of San Remo, Town Beach, Pyramids and Falcon Bay.
- San Remo will be patrolled every Sunday from 8am to 12pm (excluding public holidays) until April 2025.
- Town Beach will be patrolled every Sunday from 8am to 1pm (including public holidays) until January 2025.
- Pyramids will be patrolled every Sunday 8am to 12.30pm (excluding public holidays) until March 2025.
- Falcon Bay will be patrolled every Sunday 10am to 2pm (including public holidays) until January 2025.
To make sure you are safe in the ocean this summer, always follow the directions of lifeguards and remember to swim between the red and yellow flags.
Staying safe on the sand is also a cinch. Make sure you follow the five essentials:
Remember the five ‘S’ essentials:
- Slip on some clothing – wear clothes that cover your skin as much as possible.
- Slop on sunscreen – slop on spf30 or higher sunscreen.
- Slap on a hat – choose a hat with a brim to provide protection for your face, back of the neck, eyes, and ears.
- Slide on some sunglasses – long-term exposure to UV radiation can cause cataracts and cancers of the eye.
- Seek some shade – aim to seek shade whenever the UV index is three or higher.
