Important works to renew boardwalks at three locations across Dawesville and Wannanup will be completed in the coming weeks.
Aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and long-term durability of these community assets, works are currently underway at:
- Warrungup Spring Reserve, Dawesville
- Balladonia Foreshore boardwalk, Dawesville
- Alexis Circle Lookout, Wannanup
The old timber decking at Warrungup Spring Reserve has already been removed, with handrail replacements and more accessible concrete footpaths have been installed. The next stage involves installing a new fibre-reinforced plastic deck and scour protection at both ends of the boardwalk.
Preparation for works at the Balledonia Foreshore and Alexis Circle sites is progressing, with temporary fencing to be installed soon. Each of these boardwalks is expected to be complete by mid-July.
Peaceful walks along the water are one of the great treasures of life in Mandurah, and these works will ensure our boardwalks remain safe and welcoming spaces for the community to enjoy for years to come.
