The City of Mandurah is inviting the community to have their say on the future of the Rushton Park sporting precinct, with a draft master plan now available for community feedback.

As Mandurah’s largest sporting facility, Rushton Park plays a key role in fostering the city’s grassroots and state level clubs while also boosting the local economy by attracting large-scale competitions and events.

The precinct is home to a variety of clubs from across sports such as lawn bowls, croquet, tennis, netball and Australian rules football, and has been a vital community asset for decades.

The new draft master plan aims to ensure Rushton Park can continue to serve Mandurah’s growing community long into the future, addressing key needs including stadium capacity and accessibility.

Key features of the draft plan include:

  • A regional stadium with capacity for up to 20,000 attendees
  • Relocation of the Mandurah Netball Association and North Mandurah Tennis Club
  • Upgraded lighting for night games
  • Improved pedestrian links and passive recreation areas
  • New toilet and storage facilities, along with shaded seating
  • Enhanced safety, accessibility, and surveillance
  • A new multi-use community and sporting facility
  • Opportunities to attract major events to Mandurah

Community consultation is now open, and we want to hear your thoughts. This is the latest stage of engagement in shaping a plan that is functional, sustainable and designed to meet the needs of current and future generations.
