Stage 7 works to Pinjarra Road (at the intersection of Anstruther Road) are progressing well, with a series of works completed ahead of schedule.
Several milestones have been ticked off, and a key traffic switch is set to be carried out in the coming weeks.
These works have focussed on road rehabilitation, resurfacing, and installing an improved traffic light system.
Upgrades to the traffic lights are funded under the Australian Government Black Spot Program, and will include additional right turn signals from both the north and south ends of Anstruther Road.

Completed works
Construction has moved at a steady pace, with several major milestones already ticked off. Key works completed include:
- Completion of all granular layer works
- Sealing of the road surface and reinstated kerbing
- Upgrades to traffic signals including upgrading old infrastructure and cabling
Two-week look ahead
Weather and site conditions permitting, the following works will be carried out in early to mid-January:
- Installation of new footpaths, pram ramps, and crossovers.
- Final asphalt works to ensure a smooth, durable road surface.
- Installation of traffic signal loops and new line marking.
Please note: Asphalt works will be completed on Saturday, 17 January, to ensure impacts to local businesses are kept to a minimum. To accommodate these works, traffic conditions will be modified, and a detour will be in place for all traffic heading in the westbound direction. The eastbound lanes will remain open to road users headed towards the Mandurah Forum. Access to businesses will be maintained, with traffic controllers in place to assist.
Upcoming traffic switch
In late January, there will be an important change to traffic flow at the Anstruther intersection.
Roadworks will move from the westbound lanes to the eastbound lanes. This means all traffic will travel through the works area on the southern side of the intersection.
Once this change is made, works on the westbound lanes will be finished. The traffic change is planned to occur during the week starting 19 January 2026. This is earlier than first planned, as works are progressing well.
Access to businesses on the northern side of the intersection will remain open while the next stage of works takes place.
Maps showing the new traffic layout will be available in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your patience while we deliver a smoother and safer drive through Pinjarra Road.
