The City of Mandurah recognises that markets bring vibrancy, activation and activity to an area. Market guidelines have been developed for the 2022/23 trading season that apply to markets operating within the City Centre area utilising public space.
Markets are an important part of community life and tourist attraction, and can make valuable contributions to the local economy. Public space also has a right to be accessed by the wider public, and market activities can impact the operations of local permanent businesses. The guidelines have been developed to help create a balance in use and provide a clear framework of the approval process.
These guidelines are in place for the 2022/23 trading season. At the end of this period the guidelines will be reviewed, and recommendations will be made for the seasons in 2023/24 and beyond.
For more information, or if you are a market operator who would like to discuss operating in the City Centre, please email the City Centre team.
