The City of Mandurah is proud to make Mandurah Christmas accessible and welcoming for everyone in our community. We believe everyone should be able to celebrate the festive season comfortably and confidently — no matter their age, ability or circumstance.
Accessibility is important because it helps every person feel included, supported and valued. By reducing barriers and offering clear information, we make it easier for everyone to enjoy the joy and connection that Mandurah Christmas brings.

Visual Stories
A Visual Story explains what to expect at an event, step-by-step, using images and simple descriptions. They are especially helpful for people who experience anxiety, autism, or sensory sensitivities and prefer to know what will happen in advance.

Christmas Chat Boards
Christmas Chat Boards (also known as communication boards) are available for all Mandurah Christmas events and can be downloaded from the event listings.
These boards use pictures, symbols and words to help people who have difficulty speaking communicate their needs and feelings more easily. They support inclusion by allowing everyone to take part in conversations, activities and celebrations.
Audio Descriptions
Audio Descriptions are available for selected light installations along the Mandurah Christmas Lights Trail. These short recordings describe what each light display looks like, helping people who are blind or have low vision experience the trail through sound.
Audio Descriptions bring the sights of Christmas to life with storytelling and detailed explanations.
You can listen to them directly from the event listing on the City of Mandurah website or scan the QR codes displayed on light boxes at each featured location along the trail.
