The CASM Gift Shop will be temporarily closed in 2026 to make way for exciting developments at Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah (CASM).
CASM was recently awarded a funding boost from the State Government’s Regional Exhibition Touring Boost, which will support the expansion of our Artist in Residence Program. This exciting development will provide valuable professional development opportunities for local artists, both emerging and mid-career, through mentorship, materials support, and other wrap-around services.
To accommodate the expanded program, additional space for the artists in residence is required. After careful consideration, it was decided that the Dorothy Newland Library will be relocated into the Gift Shop space, as the library is directly adjacent to the existing residency area. As a result, the Gift Shop will close during this period.
Further changes within the gift shop will depend on several factors, including future funding opportunities to continue the Creative Extension Artist Residency program and the outcomes of a broader review of CASM services. The CASM team will continue to update the Mandurah community as more information becomes available.
